Pano O recruits bound for Svalarheima

I have finished another four Pan O troops for my new N3 army that I will hope to try out during the Winter holiday season.

Perfect climate to endure the winter cold and play over a snow themed tabletop.

Painting Update

I have recently finished the Nomad painting commission which I was very pleased with and the customer received them all safe and sound back in Australia which I was very relieved about.

The past few weekends I have been painting like mad to finish the remaining 6 miniatures for my Pan O Svalenhiema army. I hope to get pics of them up on the weekend. I am currently in the process of moving house which also means I will have a bigger painting studio and a permanent games room to play Infinity.

So the next few weeks will see me painting some more Pan O minis so I can begin using them in games in time for N3 and to also begin putting together my terrain from Warsenal which I received a month ago.

I will begin painting this month two more grenzer conversions for the Nomad commission and a FW primach and civi models for Infinity. Looking forward to starting those for sure!

Hope you guys are busy painting or playing games and enjoying your hobby time :)

Tuguska Painting Commission part 1 Completed :)

After many hours laboring away, I have managed to finish the bulk of the Tunguska painting commission I began some months ago.

Now the panic of all 25+ minis being sent to Australia is always a stressful time. I will say a short prayer that they will arrive to the eager client in Melbourne all safe and in one piece :)

I has been a journey and a please Paul and thank you again and I hope they kill lots of shot on the tabletop lol.

Now, back to the Pan O Valhalla Rising project...Yes!!!

Speed Painting Yuriko Oda

I was rushed to get her all finished and ready for this weekends Infinity campaign games as I will be pressed for time with the current commission work I want to get finished this week.

Straight forward paint scheme and nothing that complicated. Awesome style to this mini and she would be my most favorite DF sculpt and she is excellent in game too.

Fingers crossed CB have in the works a new SWC box set of Keisotsu Butai being released sometime soon :)

Cheers guys and gals

My good friend and client for this commission crafted this awesome little conversion. Arms are from a Wildcat doctor I believe.

Fun to paint as all the new Ice Storm minis have been so far.

Also I have been tinkering with my wife's digital camera and I have managed to decipher some of the Katakana and Hiragana to better my picture quality. The use of the plinth has helped to minimize the shadows under the miniatures when photographing.

Valhalla Rising: A Pan O Svalarheima Project.

These are two of the four miniatures I have painted for my Svalarheima themed Pan O for Infinity.

More time than usual has gone into painting these minis which I hope to be a consistent trend throughout the whole army.

Snow effects can be one of the most challenging basing and terrain materials to make it look natural. I did some study and read through lots of articles and in the end I came away with some new knowledge and new ideas.

The crushed glass is the snow effect on these bases. The thing about the crushed glass is that is reflects it's surrounding. If you have a dark brown base and then apply the glass it will appear when dry dark and with a tinge of brown through it. You need to build layers and layers until it retains some white hues.

I went around this dry airbrushing white over the base areas where the snow would be applied and the effects were positive. I used some natural garden pebbles and some dried plant roots for texturing along with some Vallejo ground effects ( The resin grit basing texture ).

Overall I am happy with these miniatures and I have the rest of the NCA starter set as well as the OIS to do as well.

I am in the process of making snow themed terrain and a game board. I am still thinking of just buying a gaming mat as they are much easier to use and store away and a lot less mess.

I hope you enjoy following my progress in this project in bring snow to Infinity :)

0-12 Commissioner for Tunguska Painting Commission

This is a beautiful miniature and I love the stature and the coat design is excellent. The face detail could have been better but you can tell this has been sculpted traditionally and not using the 3D tech.

I will have to grab one for myself as he makes for a great civi target in mission based games and I hope he is included in future mission from CB.

Svalarheima Panocianian Army Update and Campaign Paradiso

I have been working behind the scenes on my Pan O Svalarheima army off the ground. Due to painting commissions time has been tight but I still have been able to get a couple of minis done.

I will hope to take some pics and post them up in the coming days.

Also on the schedule is the snow themed Svalarheima board which will take time, money and resources to finish. Also moving house soon has halted plans on getting anything seriously done.

Next weekend I will be playing some more game of Infinity with a friend in Tokyo. We are playing a campaign but as we only have two players we have decided just to play through each of the missions and upgrade our spec ops as we venture through it.

I will take some pics and post them on this blog for others to see that Infinity is alive and well in Japan.

Thank you

Clockmaker for Tunguska Commission

Had fun with this mini. Nice to paint a mini with some character which is something the newer sculpts is detracting from which is a shame.

This mini was just screaming for a theme so I chose an Adidas sports theme as he looks like a hip kind of engineer lol.

Next up is a Spectr hacker.

Confessions of a Hexaholic

I have recently finished these set of three remotes for the Tunguska painting commission. As most will know seeing my Infinity work, I love to paint hexes :) So needless to say I was looking forward to painting hexes on all those flat smooth areas on the remote bodies.

I currently have the Clockmaker on the work bench and should have him finished over the coming week.

Nomads Tunguska Painting Commission Progress Report

I have the wonderful opportunity to paint some fantastic miniatures from the Nomad range of Infinity the game.

I have only painted a few miniatures from the Nomad faction so far and this project has given me a good insight into how incredibly detailed these minis are. The new Interventors set is a clear indication the way Corvus Belli want to go with 3D sculpting and the results are very impressive. I was not sure about the new technology of 3D sculpting at first as I thought it would take away a lot of the character that manual sculpting has to miniatures.

Infinity has a well defined aesthetic and the 3D sculpting is just reinforcing that clean cut near future concept even further now. I am looking forward to painting the remotes and the other single miniatures which I hope to show to you soon.

And yes, it was requested from the client that the blue interventor is to be like the 'Laughing Man' from Ghost in the Shell :)
